Dale of Norway Sweaters

Reindeer Sweater, Lappland from Dale's Jubileum book

I made this sweater with navy instead of black, in the largest size. I needed an extra ball of the navy. I need to get a picture taken of the finished item, but it is put away for the summer right now.

Red with a fair isle yoke, Dale book 100, design 14

The original pattern calls for Tuir, but I prefer Falk, so I had to use some different colors. My red is a little darker than in the original pattern. I found, after I had knitted the whole thing up, that my st st gauge was significantly larger than the fair isle gauge and the sweater looked strange when tried on. Soooo... I frogged all but the yoke. I have finished the sleeves and am two thirds of the way through the main body. I will kitchener stitch all the parts back together. I think it will work this time. It better ;-)

Dale of Norway Haiti from book 122

I made this sweater out of Katia Espiga, which gets the same gauge. I think is is no longer available in the US. I like how the sweater turned out. I had to crochet the neck edging a couple of times before it came out right. It was too baggy the first time. I have included a close-up of the shell edging and the neck.

Dale of Norway Kypros, book 122

Here is what is finished so far on Kypros. The main texture stitch is very slow but looks nice. I am making the stitch a little differently than written in the pattern, as it wasn't working well with the way I knit. I am crossing the stitches on the right side of the ridge before knitting them off. On the left side I'm knitting as written.

Dale of Norway Vilde, book Summer 2001

This sweater was knit out of Katia espiga. It turned out great, The one thing I need to do is figure out how to keep the ends of the yarn from migrating to the outside of the sweater. I hate to use glue, but I don't know what else to do.
