Books in My Collection

I have a weakness for books. I own more than I can ever use, but could never give them up. My plan is to die with enough books to entirely stock a guild's library. When I have time, I will list my holdings and give a brief description of what is in them. Books that are still in print have an amazon link-- many books have other peoples' critiques and some have sample pages posted, which can be useful in helping you decide whether you need a particular book or not. Out of print books are marked OOP. You can look for them at ABE books. Here we go!

Knitting / Weaving / Dyeing / Spinning / Quilting / Sewing / Misc crafts

Knitting with Beads: 30 Beautiful Sweaters, Scarves, hats and Gloves by Jane Davis-- Project book teaches you how to incorporate beads with your knitting. Some of the projects have beads sewn on after the knitting is done, some have beads strung on the yarn and knitted in. A few of the projects also use felting.
101 Filet Crochet Charts (American School of Needlework)-- just what it says, fairly traditional animals, plants, holiday, religious and alphabets.
Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns by Ann Budd-- a truly handy book. Pick a yarn, check for gauge, and reach for this book. Socks, mittens, hats, scarves, vests and sweaters.
Fishermen's Sweaters by Alice Starmore-- traditional sweaters for the whole family
The Celtic Collection by Alice Starmore -- I love this book! Most of the yarns are no longer available, but I've heard that Ms. Starmore is supplying new yarn kits for her designs. Here is her website.
